Welcome to Your Retirement Planning and Living Resource
Retirement is the point where a person stops employment completely.  Retirement is also sports jargon for the situation where a team (for example in soccer) decides never again to issue the jersey number of a retired or deceased player, as a token of honor.  Retirement is often viewed as an "event" when retirement is actually both a process (requiring planning and adjustment) and a life stage (lasting for multiple years).  Retirement is a stage of life that could, for some, last anywhere from 5 to as many as 20 years.  Retirement is considered a voluntary action similar to a resignation.  Retirement is more a state of mind than a stage of life.  Retirement is not usually the time to try something new.  Retirement is more challenging for boomers than it was for our parents and grandparents.  Retirement is supposed to be carefree and enjoyable; examine your situation and only undertake the costs and risks that will allow you to sleep well at night.  Retirement is just one aspect of your financial planning.
